چکیده

Now a days, The novel drug delivery system is creating a new interest in development of drug deliveries. Vesicular drug delivery system in also a part of this novel drug delivery system which is designed according to the recent demands of treatment like sustain release of drug in systemic circulation, definite dosing interval. Transferosomes are part of this vesicular drug delivery system which are altered deformable vesicles used to enhance skin penetration. It is also a controlled & targeted drug delivery system which is used to increase the existence of drug in systemic circulation & decrease the toxicity.Transferosomes are proposed for variety of applications in humans like as carrier for insulin & vaccines. In this review, we mainly focus on transferosome with its applications, limitations, advantages & preparation.

Increased skin permeation efficiency of imperatorin via charged ultradeformable lipid vesicles for transdermal delivery

Aim The aim of this work was to develop a novel vesicular carrier, ultradeformable liposomes (UDLs), to expand the applications of the Chinese herbal medicine, imperatorin (IMP), and increase its transdermal delivery. Methods In this study, we prepared IMP-loaded UDLs using the thin-film hydration method and evaluated their encapsulation efficiency, vesicle deformability, skin permeation, and...

Vesicular systems for delivering conventional small organic molecules and larger macromolecules to and through human skin.

The history of using vesicular systems for drug delivery to and through skin started nearly three decades ago with a study utilising phospholipid liposomes to improve skin deposition and reduce systemic effects of triamcinolone acetonide. Subsequently, many researchers evaluated liposomes with respect to skin delivery, with the majority of them recording localised effects and relatively few stu...

Niosome-loaded antifungal drugs as an effective nanocarrier system: A mini review

Skin is an important organ of the body due to offering an accessible and convenient site for drug administration. One of the disadvantages of transdermal drug delivery is the low penetration rate of drugs through the skin. Over the past decades, nanoparticles have been used as drug delivery systems to increase therapeutic effects or reduce toxicity. Encapsulation of drugs in nanoparticulate ves...

Ultradeformable archaeosomes as new topical adjuvants.

UNLABELLED Ultradeformable archaeosomes (UDA) are vesicles made of soybean phosphatidylcholine (SPC), sodium cholate (NaChol) and polar lipids from Halorubrum tebenquichense (3:1:3 wt/wt). Although ultradeformable liposomes (UDL, made of SPC and NaChol at 6:1 wt/wt) and UDA were neither captured nor caused cytotoxicity on keratinocytes, UDA was avidly captured by macrophages, their viability be...

Investigation of the mechanism of enhanced skin penetration by ultradeformable liposomes

This study aimed to determine the mechanism by which ultradeformable liposomes (ULs) with terpenes enhance skin penetration for transdermal drug delivery of fluorescein sodium, using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). Skin treated with ULs containing d-limonene, obtained from in vitro skin penetration studies, was examined via TEM to investigat...
